Thoughts on George Yeo's Press Conference

George Yeo badly wanted to win but lost. Voters do not have confidence that he can lead the transformation of the PAP from within and I feel the voters of Aljunied were right. Any forceful attempt to achieve that would break up the PAP into various camps. Any gradual process will get nowhere because it will surely suffer from three steps forward and two steps back. Either way it would be an unstable and insecure PAP, hence the government and it cannot be good for Singapore.

The PAP has many years of baggage to throw overboard even before it can start anew. As they follow a corporatist model, the corporate treatment may be in the offing. Anyone knows how to show them that resistance is futile without calling on the Borg?

I appreciate that he promised to ensure a smooth transition for the incoming MPs.

The results of this election puts the PAP on notice. And what can it do except to be stuck in denial and wait to be booted out. This may be early days, but their speeches show they are still clueless.
