Lapses in Government Procurement Practice

Big news on government procurement in the ST today. Only right to publish them.

The findings are summarized (see left) here. Hey, they have been doing these for many years! Finally they are doing something about it. The rot stops here.

These lapses were probably judged in "safe to fail" category especially if you compare them against what's going on in most other nations. No longer.

I think why they are going to tighten is because they don't want sequel episodes of the Brompton Bikes incident.

Learn to be more transparent. Live and get used to greater transparency. It is very uncomfortable at the beginning but you will get used to it. Government transparency will eventually lead to greater corporate transparency. You can't put a dollar amount to its benefit. This is soft capital, softer than brand capital but it is huge because it enhances the value of everything we do.
