My man peeve with the MCE was that the LTA treated it like beta software, inconveniencing commuters for nothing and hurting the political fortunes of its ministers. I didn't know how long it will stay beta and fortunately for them I looks brief. Can't find any news of congestion on the MCE today. I was in the MCE this morning and the traffic was light but it was very early. The heavy traffic was on the AYE.
I don't think the MCE is vastly superior to the previous ECP-AYE. I think it is built for future needs when the corridor along the KPE develops further. That's why the five lanes is shared with two runoff lanes into ECP and three seamlessly flowing into the KPE.
